Once an important Premonstratensian
cloister that served as a vital
part of a prospering Prussian domain
later in history, Gottesgnaden is
nowadays a more contemplative island
in the Saale-river that is located
between the watergate and the dam
of the city of Calbe/Saale. Only
a few relicts of former times are
visible: a Romanic church, remains
of the cloister wall and a mix of
huge stables, dwellings and
workshops.
